University of West Bohemia, ID No.: 49777513, registered office at Univerzitní 2732/8, 301 00 Plzeň (hereinafter "UWB"), , hereby informs you from the position of administrator about the basic principles of personal data processing in connection with the use of the BrainIn application. This application has been developed within project no. 191 entitled Use of modern information technologies for neurorehabilitation of patients with acquired brain damage, implemented within the INTERREG VA program, cross-border cooperation Czech Republic - Free State of Bavaria, goal of ETC 2014-2020, in the sense of Act No. 110/2019 Coll., on the processing of personal data, and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC ( GDPR").

Personal data processed

We process the following personal data: name and surname, e-mail address, username and password.

Purpose of personal data processing

For the purposes of performance of the contract according to Article 6, paragraph 1, letter b) GDPR, i.e. registration to use the BrainIn application.

Duration of data processing

Personal data will be processed for the time strictly necessary to ensure mutual rights and obligations; at the latest until the sustainability of the project.

Method of data processing

Data are processed electronically by manual and automated means. Data processing is technically and organizationally secured so that no unauthorised or accidental access to the data, their change, destruction or loss, unauthorised transfers, other unauthorised processing, and another misuse can occur. All obligations of the data administrator, arising from legal regulations, especially the Regulation, are continuously secured by staff and organisation at all times during the processing period.


Based on the granted consent, the University of West Bohemia, as the administrator, will process your personal data: patient ID, gender, age, neurorehabilitation start date, duration of neurorehabilitation in the system in weeks, assigned tasks, patient's education, dominant hand, initial patient condition, final patient condition, the reason for termination of therapy and data of patient behaviour in tasks outside the BrainIn application (in the google forms system) for statistical processing within the validation and development of the system. Health data is classified as sensitive personal data. The UWB will be entitled to provide these personal data to the partners within project No. 191, who are obliged to treat them the same way as the UWB. Consent to the processing of personal data is granted for the duration of the project's sustainability and can be revoked at any time by e-mail / in writing.

The University of West Bohemia is entitled to use your personal data only in accordance with the stated purpose or for the legitimate need of state control and law enforcement authorities.

If the UWB provides personal data to the partners of project No. 191 the partners may use personal data only for the same purpose for which these data were provided to the UWB.

The processing will take place in accordance with the relevant legal standards on personal data protection and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation). Personal data will not be published.

I have been instructed that the provision of data is voluntary. I have also been instructed in accordance with the relevant legislation:

  • of my right to revoke this consent, even without giving a reason, and I acknowledge that revoking the consent may affect the achievement of the purpose for which the consent was issued unless the purpose can be achieved otherwise,
  • of my right to access and correct these data,
  • of my right to delete these data if processed in violation of the protection defined by the relevant legislation or in violation of this consent, or if the consent has been revoked.
